best video 2010

OCT.2010 *By Leticia Lopez
Meet Eliot Rausch, director of Last minutes with ODEN, best video and best documentary.

I was born and raised in the South Bay (a cozy surf town on the coast of California, south of Los Angeles). I have tried many times to run away from home but it never worked. Recently I made my way back and now reside 10 minutes away from where I grew up. I am a storyteller and lover of people at heart. To pay for my passion’s I am a director / editor by trade. Sometimes I am able to merge the two, which is my favorite.

Originally it was a selfish endeavor to better understand the human experience and the capacity of the human spirit when confronted with trials in life. Lukas Korver, Matt Taylor and myself dedicated a year to capturing several stories that embodied this study. What is seen on Vimeo are small samples from this larger body of work that will eventually be used for a feature length documentary. I have been a big fan of Vimeo for years now. I found the festival online.

What do I like besides my work? I think many times I am my work, outside of it my identity is very weak. When I have moments of rest I love to pray, observe life, read, serve others and hang out with societies marginalized and unwanted. This question is a bit confronting. Maybe I need to find some hobbies.
